Michael Arougheti

Michael Arougheti is the Co-Founder, President & CEO of Ares Management. Michael was previously the Manager, Partner Engagement at Project Management Institute from August 2012 to February 2021. In this role, they were responsible for advanced PMI and PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF) as thought leaders in strategic philanthropy as architect and overseer of multimillion-dollar partnerships and grants portfolio that reached over 1 million individuals in more than 60 countries on six continents through initiatives that effected nonprofit capacity building, systemic educational reform, and workforce readiness.

Arougheti has a long history of working in philanthropy and nonprofits. Michael has a passion for connecting people with causes they care about and helping organizations operate more efficiently so they can have greater impact. Michael is a skilled relationship builder and fundraiser, and has a track record of successful grantmaking and project management.

Michael Arougheti received an A.B. in Anthropology from Harvard University and a M. Phil. / ABD in Sociology & Education with a minor in Educational Policy from Teachers College, Columbia University.
