Steve Boughal

Steven Boughal, CFA, FRM, currently serves as Head of Argo Pro and Underwriting Officer for Financial Lines and Surety at Argo Group, a position held since September 2022. Prior to this, Steven held the role of Chief Underwriting Officer for US Financial Lines Insurance at Zurich North America from May 2019 to July 2022. Steven's extensive experience in underwriting includes serving as Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer at The Hartford from December 2009 to May 2019, and as National Practice Leader for Investment Adviser and Funds at Travelers from July 2001 to December 2009. Earlier career positions include Vice President at Gulf Insurance Company, Senior Underwriter at Kemper Insurance, and Regional Underwriting Manager at American International Group. Steven Boughal earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Quantitative Economics from the University of Rhode Island between 1989 and 1993.
