Brent Xu

Brent Xu is a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader specializing in blockchain and software development. As Co-Founder and CEO of Duration Labs since January 2024, Brent is focused on optimizing lending platforms. In addition, Brent launched Umee in January 2021, a software production studio concentrating on Web 3.0 lending algorithms, and has developed the UX chain, an algorithmic lending protocol. Brent is also a partner at Argonautic Ventures, investing in blockchain and crypto ventures, and served as a strategic advisor and head of strategy at Tendermint, where the Cosmos Hub was launched. Previous roles include building out the Ethereum network at ConsenSys and contributing to its ecosystem, as well as experience in finance as a bond trader at Academy Securities and as a research analyst at Duke University Medical Center, where Brent focused on computational biology and bioinformatics. Brent holds a Bachelor of Science from Duke University, emphasizing biology, statistics, and philosophy.
