Jean-Sébastien Lemay has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Jean-Sébastien began their career as an intern in production planning at ZF Friedrichshafen AG in 2006. Jean-Sébastien then worked as an intern in production process for hot parts of aeronautical engines at Safran in 2007. In the same year, they had a brief internship in HSE & FM services at Vector Ldt. Jean-Sébastien then worked as an automotive test engineer at Plastic Omnium in 2008.

In 2009, Jean-Sébastien joined Airbus as a junior financial analyst at investors relation & financial communication. Jean-Sébastien later took on the role of corporate governance manager and support to the Board of Directors at General Secretary.

In 2012, Jean-Sébastien joined Marine Nationale as a Lieutnant (R), before moving to Airbus Defence and Space in 2013. There, they served as an executive assistant to the Director of Strategy and Market developments, and later as a company transformation manager.

In 2015, Jean-Sébastien joined ArianeGroup as the Public Affairs & Institutional Relations manager. Jean-Sébastien then transitioned to the role of sales manager for civil launchers, where they managed the budgetary synthesis of programmes and handled institutional sales for Ariane 5 and Ariane 6 business.

From 2018 to 2021, Jean-Sébastien served as the General Delegate at CVA - Communauté des villes Ariane, where they managed and developed the Community of Ariane Cities, a public-private NGO focused on the space transportation sector.

Currently, Jean-Sébastien is the Launch service project director at ARIANESPACE, a role they started in December 2021.

Jean-Sébastien Lemay has a diverse education history. From 2004 to 2007, they attended the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) and obtained a Dipl. Ingenieur degree in Mechanical Engineering. During the same period, they also studied at Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers, where they pursued a degree in General Engineering.

In 2012, Jean-Sébastien attended École Navale and earned the title of Officer in the French Navy (reserve, PMS EMM). Additionally, they attended ESSEC Business School from 2008 to 2009, although their specific field of study or degree name is not provided.

Before pursuing higher education, Jean-Sébastien completed their preparatory studies from 2002 to 2004 in Maths, Physics, and Mechanics at Prep’ school.

In terms of additional certifications, Jean-Sébastien obtained the Airbus leadership université certification from Airbus in 2016. In 2012, they also acquired the Young auditor, defence & geopolitics certification from the Institut des hautes études de défense nationale (IHEDN). Furthermore, Jean-Sébastien obtained the international association of contract and commercial management (IACCM) certification from IACCM in 2020.
