Sacha Gunaratne

Sacha Gunaratne is a skilled data scientist with a strong background in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Currently employed at Plenty of Fish since February 2023, Sacha previously contributed to Decisive AI from January 2018 to December 2022, focusing on intelligent agents for the video game industry. Academic experience includes serving as a Graduate Researcher at Carleton University from January 2016 to May 2018, where research involved creating autonomous agents and optimizing learning techniques. Sacha also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, introducing coding concepts to students and enhancing their skills in Java and C++. Additional roles include independent contracting for SharpestMinds in machine learning and a co-op engineering position at Flextronics, where Sacha implemented automation tools and conducted testing on hardware. Sacha holds a Master of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Physics.
