Manuel de Castro e Almeida

Manuel de Castro e Almeida has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Manuel recently worked as the Head of Research at ARK Group DMCC since February 2019. Prior to this, Manuel was a Visiting Fellow at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from September 2018 to September 2019.

From 2015 to 2018, Manuel served as the Managing Director at Quaestio Associates. Before that, they worked as an Advisor for private clients from August 2014 to July 2015.

Manuel also has experience in media, serving as the Assistant Editor-in-Chief at Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper and Al-Majalla magazine from November 2012 to August 2014. Manuel was also a Senior Editor at Al-Majalla magazine from March 2009 to September 2010.

Furthermore, Manuel has a teaching background, having worked as a Teaching Fellow at SOAS from October 2012 to September 2013, and as a Teaching Assistant at LSE from September 2010 to May 2011.

In addition, Manuel has worked in the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving as the National Delegate to COTER EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy working group on terrorism from January 2007 to January 2008.

Manuel started their career as a Researcher at NDWM in March 2005, where they worked until July 2005.

Manuel de Castro e Almeida has a strong education background in the field of International Relations. Manuel earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in International Relations from Durham University, where they studied from 2005 to 2006.
