Virva Rantala has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Virva started their career as a Sales Assistant at Marimekko in 2003, before moving on to a Summer Trainee role at Ovenia in 2004. In 2006, they worked as a Student Placement/Marketing & Sales Assistant at Eismann UK Ltd. and then as a Marketing Assistant at Holiday Club Caribia.
Rantala then joined Unilever HPC in 2007 as a Nordic Assistant Brand Manager, before transitioning to Dr. Oetker in 2009. At Dr. Oetker, they initially held the position of Product Manager and later became the Marketing Manager.
Their most recent positions include Brand & Category Manager roles at Arla Oy, where they were responsible for managing various cheese and butter products. Virva started as the Brand & Category Manager for Yellow Cheese & Butter, Spreads & Margarine in 2018 before taking on the role of Brand & Category Manager for White Cheese & Butter, Spreads & Margarine in 2021. Currently, they are serving as the Interim Head of Cheese & BSM at Arla Oy.
Virva Rantala obtained a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing from The Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing in 2018. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Economics & Business Administration, with a focus on Marketing, from the Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku between 2002 and 2007. In 2005, Virva attended the University of Zurich for a brief period, studying Economics, Marketing, German, and French. Additionally, in the same year, they briefly studied Strategic Management with an Asia-Pacific focus, Asian Financial Markets, Management, and International Business at the University of Macau.
