Alicia Smith has a wide range of work experience in the field of information security. Alicia started their career as a NOC Engineer at The Planet, where they gained experience in server monitoring and troubleshooting. Alicia then moved up to the role of Customer Care Analyst, before being promoted to Security Engineer, where they were responsible for deploying and supporting various firewall models.

After leaving The Planet, Alicia joined Affiliated Computer Services as a Security Principal, where they provided technical expertise and performed comprehensive analyses of existing solutions. Alicia then transitioned to NeoSpire, Inc., first as a Security Analyst and later as a Security Engineer. At NeoSpire, Alicia played a key role in managing security services, conducting network scans, and performing forensic analysis in response to breaches. Alicia also worked closely with large customers to help them manage their PCI requirements.

Following their time at NeoSpire, Alicia worked at Hosting.com as a Security Operations Supervisor. In this role, they incorporated the use of project tracking, conducted audits of internal services, and provided technical expertise for advanced project scope and objectives. Alicia then joined FireHost as a Security Engineer, where they led a team of security engineers and handled infrastructure projects, including the implementation of Bitdefender and Trend Micro Deep Security.

Before their current role, Alicia worked at Mozilla as an Information Security Engineer and later as a Senior Information Security Engineer. At Mozilla, they played a key role in the development and maintenance of the Mozilla Defense platform (MozDef), as well as incident response, configuration maintenance, and evaluation of security standards.

Most recently, Alicia worked at Armor Defense as the VP of Information Security and Director of Security Engineering, where they oversaw security initiatives and played a key role in the company's security infrastructure.

In addition to their work experience, Alicia is also a member of IEEE.

Alicia Smith attended Collin College from 2018 to 2019, focusing on core studies towards a BS in Neuroscience. Alicia also attended DeVry Institute of Technology from 1994 to 1995, where they received an undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems. Alicia has obtained additional certifications in Decision Intelligence from LinkedIn (obtained year: 2023) and as a HITRUST Certified CSF Practitioner from HITRUST (obtained month: January 2021).
