Kelly McManus has extensive work experience in the field of education policy and advocacy. Kelly began their career in 2006 as a literacy teacher with Teach For America before taking on various roles within the organization, including coordinator of individual giving and associate in development. In 2010, they became a manager of public partnerships. From 2012 to 2015, they served as the government affairs director for Stand for Children. Kelly then joined The Education Trust as the senior legislative affairs associate and later became the director of government affairs. In 2019, they joined Arnold Ventures as the director of higher education and was later promoted to vice president of higher education in November 2022. Additionally, they briefly worked as the director of research and policy for Williams for Arizona in 2009.
Kelly McManus completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at Wake Forest University from 2002 to 2006. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Education at the University of Pennsylvania from 2006 to 2008.
