Dr. Barbara Mutzbauer has extensive experience in the field of design and academia. Dr. phil. Barbara is currently serving as a Dozentin & Mentorin at HSLU Hochschule Luzern, where they started in 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Creative Director Concept & Strategy at Aroma from 2022. Dr. phil. Barbara also served as a Dozentin & Mentorin at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste starting in 2020. In 2021, they held multiple roles, including Lecturer/Lehrbeauftragte at Technische Hochschule Rosenheim and Head of Design and Scenography at MCH Global. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Creative Director at Bellprat Partner AG. Before that, they worked on a research project and served as a Design Director at SCHMIDHUBER from 2016 to 2019. Dr. phil. Barbara also worked as a Scenographer at Bellprat Partner AG from 2011 to 2016 and as an Interior Designer at Cornelius de Fries GmbH from 2008 to 2011.
Dr. Phil. Barbara Mutzbauer has an extensive education history. Dr. phil. Barbara began by earning a Diplom-Ingenieurin (Dipl.Ing.) degree in Innenarchitektur from Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences, which they completed from 2001 to 2006. Later, they pursued a CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies) in Corporate Identity at ZHdK Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in 2007 and 2008. In 2014 and 2015, Dr. Mutzbauer obtained another CAS, this time in Forschung und Kunst, from ZHdK Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. Dr. phil. Barbara then went on to complete their studies at the University of Potsdam, where they earned their Dr. phil. degree in the field of Philosophische Fakultät, Kulturwissenschaft from 2015 to 2021. Dr. Mutzbauer also pursued additional studies in Ethnologie at both the University of Zurich in 2015 and 2016 and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in 2016 and 2017. Currently, they are expanding their knowledge through a Sommer School in Philosophy at the University of Oxford, Department for Continuing Education in 2022. Additionally, they plan to enroll in a 10-week course of continuing education in Archaeology and Anthropology: Mesopotamia at the same institution starting in 2023.
