Amr Elshamy

Amr Elshamy has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Amr started their career at State Street as a Portfolio Accountant in 2003. In 2004, they moved to Oaktree Capital Management as a Fund Administrator before joining EFG-Hermes as an Equity Sales Trader in 2005. Amr then moved on to SHUAA Capital psc as the Head of Equity Sales Trading from 2007 to 2009. In 2009, they joined Beltone Financial as a Senior Equity Sales Trader. Since 2010, Amr has been with Arqaam Capital, where they have held several roles including Associate Director - Cash Equities, Director - Head Equity Trading, Executive Director - Head Equity Trading, and most recently, Managing Director - Head of Electronic Trading & Global Execution.

Amr Elshamy started their education at Cairo American College, where they obtained their High School Diploma in 1997. Amr then attended George Mason University from 1997 to 1999. Afterward, they enrolled at Emmanuel College (Boston) and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics & Management in 2003.

More recently, Amr attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA), which they are expected to complete in 2022.

In addition to their formal education, Amr has also obtained several certifications. These include "Electronic Trading in Financial Markets" from New York Institute of Finance in July 2020, "Fintech: Foundations & Applications of Financial Technology Specialization" from Wharton Online in May 2020, "FinTech Law and Policy" from Duke University in April 2020, and "Financial Markets" from Yale University in April 2020.

Amr'scertifications from earlier years include "Level I Passed" from the CFA Institute in July 2008, "Technical Analysis Certificate" from the Smartline Investment Training Institute in January 2007, and "Trading Manager Certificate" from Nasdaq Dubai in November 2005.
