Jaryd Traer

Jaryd Traer's work experience includes a role as a Design and Development Engineer at Array Marketing starting in February 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Developer - Compressor Design System at Pratt & Whitney Canada from September 2018 to April 2020. In this role, Jaryd developed a compressor design system and front-end GUI for use by compressor aero engineers, maintained and developed source codes, and utilized Github for version control. Jaryd also worked as a Sole Proprietor at Vivid3D Inc. from May 2015 to September 2018, providing professional grade 3D printing and freelance design services. Jaryd met with clients, offered design consultations, designed products in CAD, and created prototypes using 3D printing. Additionally, they worked as a Visiting Scientist - Topology Optimization Specialist at Pratt & Whitney Canada from January 2017 to August 2017. In this role, Jaryd optimized and redesigned engine components using topology optimization, reducing part weight and maximum stress. Jaryd also performed FEA mechanical validation and developed methodology and documentation for future interns in the role.

Jaryd Traer's education history begins in 2011 when they enrolled at Queen's University to pursue a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jaryd successfully completed their undergraduate program in 2015. Being passionate about their field and aiming for further specialization, Jaryd decided to continue their education at Queen's University. From 2015 to 2018, they pursued a Master of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
