Lucia Calderon Arrieta is an accomplished educator and artist with extensive experience in the field of fiber and visual arts. Currently serving as a Student Experience Educator at the Art Institute of Chicago since September 2022, Lucia has also held positions as Fiber Art Faculty at Lillstreet Art Center and Director of Community Care & Events at Rec Center. Previous roles include Teaching Artist at FORGE, Virtual Museum Educator at the Art Institute of Chicago, and part-time Lecturer at Chicago State University, where Lucia taught courses in Fiber I and Intro to Visual Art. Additionally, experience includes conducting educational programs at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and contributing as a Visual Art Teacher at Envision Unlimited. Lucia Calderon Arrieta holds a Master of Fine Arts from Cranbrook Academy of Art, a Post Baccalaureate Certificate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Birmingham-Southern College.
