Hiji Nam

Hiji Nam is a Clinical Candidate at The Institute For Psychoanalytic Training And Research, beginning in September 2023, and has been a Contributor and Assistant Editor at Artforum International Magazine since 2018. Previously, Hiji Nam worked as a Research Assistant at The New School, contributing to The Frantz Fanon Lab for Intersectional Psychology under the guidance of Daniel Gaztambide, PsyD, from April 2022 to 2023, and at Columbia University Department of Psychiatry and New York State Psychiatric Institute in the Mother-Infant Communication Lab with Beatrice Beebe, PhD, from 2021 to 2023. Additional editorial experience includes serving as Associate Editor at Primary Information from 2020 to 2022, with a focus on works by notable artists, and as Assistant Publisher for The New Inquiry from 2017 to 2018, following an internship at Verso Books in 2017. Hiji Nam is a PhD Candidate in Critical Social Psychology at The Graduate Center, City University of New York, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, Political Science, and German from the University of Maryland, and is a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall.
