Conrad Hess

Conrad Hess has over 9 years of experience working in data science and engineering. Conrad is currently the VP of Engineering at Arthena, a position they have held since June 2021. Prior to joining Arthena, Hess worked as the Lead Data Scientist at Warwick Investment Group from April 2018 to June 2021. During their time at Warwick, Hess designed and built machine learning and data science solutions for the investment team. Some of their notable accomplishments include creating a data product that empowered the investment team to analyze well spacing throughout the US and developing an application to generate leads and track competitors using network analysis, entity resolution, and unsupervised learning techniques.

From July 2012 to September 2017, Hess worked as the Lead Data Processing Geophysicist at Schlumberger. In this role, they managed teams of Geophysicists working on data processing and algorithm development. Highlights from their time at Schlumberger include initiating a project to reduce fuel consumption through data manipulation that resulted in cost savings of $2M+ and leading a team that created a tailored geophysical data processing algorithm for the highest end technology product with the quickest turn-around time.

Conrad Hess has a BSc in Geophysics from The University of British Columbia and a Certificate in Big Data Technologies from University of Washington. Conrad is currently a Fellowship Data Science at Metis.
