Thilini Wijesiriwardene

Thilini Wijesiriwardene is a graduate research assistant at the Artificial Intelligence Institute at the University of South Carolina, focusing on context-aware harassment detection on social media. Previous experience includes a summer research internship at the National Institutes of Health, where Thilini utilized state-of-the-art natural language models for vocabulary alignment, and positions at the University of Colombo School of Computing as an assistant lecturer and instructor, delivering lectures and mentoring students in Human-Computer Interaction. Earlier roles include consultant and software engineer positions within various organizations, developing systems for human resource management and payroll. Thilini holds a BSc (Hons) in Information and Communication Technology from the University of Colombo and is currently pursuing doctoral degrees in Computer Science and Engineering at both the University of South Carolina and Wright State University.
