Courtney McNeil has extensive experience in the museum and art industry. Courtney currently holds the position of Museum Director & Chief Curator at Artis-Naples since January 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Curator & Deputy Director for Curatorial Affairs at Telfair Museums from May 2018 to January 2021. Courtney also held various curatorial roles at Telfair Museums, including Chief Curator of Collections and Exhibitions, Curator of Fine Arts and Exhibitions, Curator of Art, Associate Curator, and Assistant Curator from 2006 to 2018. Before joining Telfair Museums, Courtney worked as a Sales & Operations Associate at Childs Gallery from May 2002 to January 2006. Courtney gained early experience in the field as a Publishing Intern at The National Gallery from September 2000 to July 2001.
Courtney McNeil completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Georgetown University from 1996 to 2000. Courtney then pursued a Master of Arts degree in History of Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art, U. of London, from 2000 to 2001. In 1998 to 1999, they participated in a junior year abroad program at UCL. Recently, in 2020, they obtained an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership & Management from the University of Notre Dame - Mendoza College of Business.
