Paul Bristow has had extensive work experience in various positions related to policy, partnerships, and place. Paul started their career as a Policy Analyst at Wandsworth Borough Council in 1997 and later worked as a Corporate Projects Officer at Bexley Council from 2001 to 2004. Paul then joined Museums, Libraries and Archives Council, where they served as a Senior Policy Adviser and Policy Adviser from 2004 to 2010. From 2010 to 2011, they were the Head of Policy at THE MUSEUMS, LIBRARIES AND ARCHIVES COUNCIL. Paul returned to Bexley Council as an Interim Complaints Manager in 2011 before joining Arts Council England in 2012. At Arts Council England, they held various roles including Director of Strategic Partnerships, Director of Policy and Partnerships, and currently serves as the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Place Policy.
Paul Bristow attended the University of Oxford from 1994 to 1997, where they pursued a BA (Hons) in Modern History and English Language and Literature. Paul later studied at Birkbeck, University of London from 2002 to 2004, earning an MSc in Public Policy and Management. In 2020 to 2021, they obtained a Professional Certificate of Executive Coaching from Henley Business School. Prior to their higher education, Paul Bristow completed their GCSEs and A Levels at Nailsea School from 1987 to 1994.
