Aaron Korkegian

Senior Project Manager at Arzeda

Aaron Korkegian has over 17 years of experience in the biotechnology field. In 2002, they began their career as a Graduate Student at the University of Washington, where they used computational protein design techniques to engineer yeast cytosine deaminase (yCD) to increase its thermostablity without negatively affecting its activity. In 2009, they joined the Infectious Disease Research Institute as a Staff Scientist II, Scientist I, and Postdoctoral Scientist, where they conducted tuberculosis drug discovery and investigations of the cell wall of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In 2019, they became a Biotech Consultant while self-employed, and also took on the role of Project Lead at Arzeda, where they were responsible for leading multiple scientific projects to reach defined business and scientific objectives.

Aaron Korkegian completed their B.A. in Molecular Biology from Pomona College in 2001. Aaron then went on to earn their Ph.D. in Molecular Cellular Biology from the University of Washington in 2007.
