Akshay Uppal

Akshay Uppal is a seasoned professional in the field of machine learning and engineering, currently serving as Lead Machine Learning Engineer - Research at ASAPP since December 2022, focusing on production-grade solutions for conversational AI using state-of-the-art large language models. Previously, Akshay worked as a Technical Author at Weights & Biases, publishing significant technical reports on machine learning and deep learning tasks, and served as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Infrrd, where contributions included developing innovative object detection systems. Earlier experience includes a role as Premier Field Engineer at Microsoft, ensuring secure infrastructure solutions, and internships at STMicroelectronics and the Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) of India, contributing to projects in solar technology and fingerprint detection respectively. Akshay's journey began with a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering.
