Engels R. currently serves as Senior Manager for ML Observability and ML Data Labelling at ASAPP, overseeing the strategy and operations for all ML products in production, including management of an 18-person global team and handling multiple concurrent projects. Prior to ASAPP, Engels held academic positions at PSG College of Technology, serving as Associate Professor and later as Professor in the Computer Science & Engineering department, with a strong research focus on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and related fields. Engels also has extensive industry experience, having held managerial roles at Bharat Electronics Ltd and Microsoft Corporation, and previous positions as a Senior Software Engineer at Satyam Computer Services. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University Chennai, an MS in Computer Science from Colorado State University, and a BE in Computer Science from PSG College of Technology.
