Preston began their career at Fluor Corporation in 2007, where they worked as a Pipe Stress Engineer, performing engineering work on piping systems. Preston then transitioned to the role of Sales Coordinator, where they developed and coordinated commercial and technical proposals for various projects.

In 2013, Preston became an Area Project Manager at Fluor Corporation, responsible for managing offsites and utilities projects in the United States Gulf Coast.
