Anders Schau Knatten has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Anders Schau started their career as a Student Tutor at Norges Informasjonsteknologiske Høgskole from January 2001 to December 2002. In 2003, Anders became the CTO and Software Engineer at Hardware Online AS, where they supervised the growth of traffic and server power and had chief responsibility for requirements, architecture, and design of the content management system. From January 2008 to July 2010, they worked at WesternGeco as a Software Engineer and Scrum Master, focusing on developing systems for seismic vessels and in-sea equipment.
Anders joined SPT Group in August 2010 as a Senior Software Engineer, contributing to the development and maintenance of the OLGA multiphase flow assurance simulator. Anders Schau also invented and implemented a quality assurance tool and founded the technical book club. In 2013, they joined Fusetools as a Staff Engineer, a position they held until August 2018.
From October 2018 to April 2023, Anders worked at Zivid as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were the primary person responsible for physical architecture, toolchains, and ABIs. Anders Schau actively participated in conference speaking engagements, organized public meetups, and held technical talks and workshops. Anders Schau also played a crucial role in discussions around culture, team structure, process, and quality assurance.
Anders is currently employed at Ascenium Inc as a Principal Engineer starting from May 2023. Anders Schau also founded their own company, ANDERS SCHAU KNATTEN, in 2001. While the company has been dormant for a few years, they developed Geekstuff as part of their entrepreneurial venture.
Anders Schau Knatten completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at The Norwegian School of Information Technology from 1999 to 2002. After that, they pursued a Network Certificate in Linux administration at Sør-Trøndelag University College (HiST) from 2002 to 2004. Anders Schau then continued their education at the University of Oslo (UiO), where they obtained a Master's degree in Scientific Computing from 2005 to 2007. In addition to their formal education, Anders also obtained a certification in Compilers from Coursera in June 2014.
