Sean Doherty has a diverse work experience in the field of biomedical research and data analysis. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a Research Assistant at Roth Lab, Duke University, where they assisted in research projects. In 2017, they interned as a Science Policy Intern at MDISS - Medical Device Innovation, Safety & Security Consortium. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant at Mercer Lab at Duke University from January 2017 to May 2017.

From 2016 to 2018, Sean also worked as a Catalogue Operations Specialist at PartsSource Inc. In 2017, they joined Randles Lab as an Undergraduate Research Fellow.

In 2018, Sean started working at Cleveland Clinic, initially as a Research Engineer, involved in computational biomodelling. Sean then advanced to the role of Senior Research Engineer, where they led a partnership between a research lab and a plastic surgeon, focusing on tracking surface tissue deformations using physics-inspired neural networks and finite element analysis. Sean also played a key role in generating biomarkers from medical knee images and automating segmentation of medical images using machine learning scripts.

In 2021, Sean worked as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Cleveland State University, where they contributed to research and teaching. Most recently, in 2023, they joined CancerLinQ® as a Biomedical Data Specialist.

Sean Doherty completed their Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, they pursued their undergraduate education at Duke University from 2014 to 2018, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Additionally, Sean obtained certifications in Scientific Computing with Python, Data Analysis with Python, and Machine Learning with Python from freeCodeCamp in 2022.
