Senior Scientist Gene Therapy at Asgard Therapeutics

Emilie Renaud has extensive experience in the field of biomedical research and pharmaceuticals. Their most recent role is as a Senior Scientist in Gene Therapy at Asgard Therapeutics, where they are responsible for vector optimizations and the establishment of upstream and downstream processes for the manufacturing of a proprietary gene therapy program. Emilie designs and generates novel delivery vectors, optimizes production for enhanced efficacy and safety, and develops functional and analytical methods to characterize the gene therapy product. Emilie also designs and executes scientific experiments to meet program and company goals within fast-paced timelines.

Prior to their current role, Emilie worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Genethon, focusing on B-cell genome editing. Emilie held a PhD position at IRCM, where they conducted research on antibody screening and engineering, specifically in allosteric inhibition of MAPK p38alpha. Emilie gained experience in protein production and purification, as well as in vitro characterization of recombinant protein activity.

Emilie also has experience as a Junior Project Engineer at IRCM, a Molecular Biology Intern at UMR - University INRA 1282 ISP, an extern in Hospital Pharmacy at CHRU Tours, and an assistant pharmacist at Pharmacie Hay. Emilie also completed a traineeship as a Director of Preclinical Studies in Toxicology at Servier.

Throughout their career, Emilie has demonstrated a strong ability to design and execute scientific experiments, optimize processes, and contribute to innovative research in the field of biomedicine and pharmaceuticals.

Emilie Renaud has a strong background in education with a range of degrees and qualifications. Emilie completed their Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, focusing on health, at the University of Montpellier from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained their Diplôme d'Etat de Docteur en Pharmacie with a specialization in the pharmaceutical industry from the Université de Tours, where they studied from 2008 to 2015. Before pursuing higher education, Emilie completed their high school education at Lycée Jean Zay in Orléans from 2004 to 2007. Emilie specialized in sciences and also took the European English option.
