Shizuka Handford

Shizuka has nearly 10 years of experience providing advisory services in both public and private sectors including real estate development, transportation, retail and hospitality. Shizuka is passionate about building meaningful relationships with her clients and understanding their business needs which enables her to provide unique and personalized solutions that will benefit their business.

Before beginning her accounting career, Shizuka owned an import/export business where she quickly learned the importance of cashflow management and financing. With her extensive knowledge in accounting and audit, Shizuka is able to quickly understand and analyze operational processes that are unique to each business and identify their strengths and opportunities for improvement so that she can recommend the most appropriate financing solutions for her clients.

Originally from Japan, Shizuka calls Victoria home with her husband Warren and their two young children. Shizuka moved from Yokohama to Campbell River, BC when she was 11 years old. Uprooting and moving across the world made Shizuka fall in love with travelling to experience and appreciate different cultures, food and architecture. Shizuka spends her free time with family, travelling, exploring the outdoors and hosting dinner parties.
