David Orwell

David Orwell is an experienced mountmaker and collections 3D designer currently working at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford since January 2019. Previous roles include mountmaker positions at COLIN BOWLES LIMITED and the Science Museum Group, where responsibilities involved gallery maintenance with a focus on woodwork and mountmaking. David also brings experience as a gallery technician at the Victoria and Albert Museum, where duties included the installation, transportation, and packing of museum objects, as well as expertise in using specialist lifting equipment. Additional qualifications include a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kingston University, a Level 1 SVQ Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery from Lambeth College, and a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design from the University for the Creative Arts. David's skills extend to web content development, utilizing bespoke content management and image cataloguing software. Notably, David participated in the Frieze Art Fair as a set-up runner during 2007, 2008, and 2009.
