Karen Thorne

Karen Thorne is an experienced finance professional with an extensive background in financial planning, analysis, and business partnering. Currently serving as Head of Finance at The Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford since January 2019, and as Financial Planning & Analysis Business Partner at Bourne Leisure Ltd since April 2018, Karen is responsible for managing teams, developing budgets, and coordinating financial projections. Additionally, Karen holds a long-standing role at the National Trust, having progressed through various finance-related positions since September 2005, where responsibilities have included supporting the Finance Strategy Director and providing financial insights to enhance operational efficiency across properties. Previous experience includes roles at Nordson Dage as Assistant Accountant and at Bucks Joinery MFG Ltd as Cost Accountant. Karen's educational background includes attendance at Aylesbury High School from 1990 to 1995.
