Laurence Black, TEP has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades.
Laurence began their career as a Manager at RBC Offshore Fund Managers in 1988 and later moved on to become the Wealth Management Marketing Director at RBC, where they were responsible for private client business development and traveled to Saudi Arabia to market investment and Trust services. In 1994, they joined RBC Global Private Banking as the Regional Director for the Middle East, focusing on high net worth private client business development and assisting clients with international investment management and estate planning.
In 2006, Laurence worked at Standard Bank as the Regional Head for Private Client Services, where they continued to support high net worth clients in the Middle East with their international succession and tax planning needs. Laurence then joined the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) as the Chairman of the STEP Arabia Branch in 2004.
From 2009 to 2012, Laurence held the position of Head of Fiduciary Services for MENA at Standard Chartered Private Bank. During this time, they provided fiduciary services to clients in the Middle East and North Africa region.
In 2012, Laurence joined Asiaciti Trust as the Regional Director for Client Solutions in EMEA. In this role, they focused on business development in the Middle East, Africa, Subcontinent, and European markets. Laurence advised high net worth families and their advisors on offshore estate and fiscal planning, and facilitated the incorporation and administration of multi-jurisdictional trust and estate planning solutions.
Most recently, in 2022, Laurence became a Non-Executive Director at GSB Capital Ltd.
Laurence Black, TEP pursued their education at Guernsey College of Further Education from 1992 to 1995. During this period, they completed the Guernsey Trust & Company Administration Certificate with a focus on Trust & Company Administration and Insurance.
