Joseph Malasa

Joseph Malasa is a dedicated professional with diverse experience in education, political organizing, and claims analysis. Currently serving as a PEP Teacher at Pin@y Educational Partnerships and a National Programs Intern with the Asian American Journalists Association since June 2021, Joseph has previously worked as a Claims Reviewer at BrownGreer PLC, where attention to detail was crucial in managing property claims for the California Fire Victim Trust. Joseph’s political engagement includes significant roles as a Field Organizer for the Democratic Party of Virginia and Mike Bloomberg 2020 during pivotal election cycles. Joseph holds a Master’s degree in Asian American Studies from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and American Studies from the University of Virginia, complemented by leadership experience as President of the Organization of Young Filipino Americans at UVA.
