S. Niru Nirthanan

S. Niru Nirthanan is a highly accomplished academic and medical professional with extensive experience in pharmacology and medical education. Currently serving as the Dean of Medicine and Professor of Pharmacology at Griffith University, Nirthanan has held various leadership roles, including Program Director for the Doctor of Medicine and Medical and Biomedical Science Programs. Nirthanan is also the Editor-in-Chief of Toxin Reviews and a Fellow of both the British Pharmacological Society and the Academy of Medical Educators. With a strong background in neuroscience, including postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School, Nirthanan has contributed significantly to pharmacology education and research, holding key positions within multiple prestigious organizations, including ASPET. Nirthanan holds degrees in Medicine and Surgery, a PhD in Pharmacology, and has engaged in mentoring initiatives for STEM professionals.
