Madhumita Harish has worked in various roles since 2016. Madhumita started as a Co-head and Mentor at Microsoft Innovation Lab, then moved onto a Summer Intern role at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where they automated cell segmentation of Nissl stained brain images using MATLAB. In 2017, they worked as a Research Assistant at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), where they extracted features using time and frequency domain Multivariate Autoregressive (MAR) models for reverberated speech and robust modeling for Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) using MATLAB, Python and Kaldi. In 2018, they worked as a Research Assistant at University of Pittsburgh, where they analyzed functional and anatomical connectivity of defined cortical cell types in mouse frontal cortex using MATLAB and ImageJ to explain how circuit elements respond differently during behavior. Madhumita also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, where they analyzed electrocorticographic data to make neural inferences and performed feature selection and extraction for a multi-class classification problem. Currently, they are a Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer at Aspinity, Inc.
Madhumita Harish completed their Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) at The Oxford Senior Secondary School between 2000 and 2013. Madhumita then went on to earn a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications Engineering from PES Institute of Technology between 2013 and 2017. During this time, they also obtained a certification in Introduction to Psychology from Coursera in May 2017. In 2018, Madhumita Harish completed their Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
