Simón Fuenzalida, CFA

Simón Fuenzalida, CFA, has a diverse work experience that spans multiple roles and companies. Starting in 2012, they worked as an Investment Banking Analyst at South Andes Capital, where they gained experience in M&A transactions and supporting clients in acquisitions, divestitures, and mergers. In 2013, Fuenzalida worked as a Thesis Student at R:Solver, where they developed a predictive model using Machine Learning techniques.

In 2014, Fuenzalida joined Deloitte as a Corporate Finance Analyst, responsible for creating investment banking marketing materials and assisting with various advisory services such as mergers, acquisitions, and project financing. Simón was later promoted to the role of Corporate Finance Associate, where they worked on more than 10 deals and collaborated directly with senior management teams.

Moving on to Santander in 2017, Fuenzalida held several roles within the bank's Fixed Income Structuring and Debt Capital Markets divisions. As a Senior Associate, they executed local and international bond issues for Chilean issuers and analyzed financing alternatives for clients. As a Vice President, they originated and executed bond issues, guided senior management throughout the deal lifecycle, and developed rating advisory proposals for first-time issuers.

Currently, Fuenzalida works at Moneda Asset Management as an Associate Director, focusing on fixed income research for LatAm credit strategies. Their coverage includes Financials, Real Estate, and Retail sectors.

Through their work experience, Fuenzalida has honed their skills in credit research, fixed income structuring, pricing, financial modeling, sales and distribution strategy, and investment banking advisory services.

Simón Fuenzalida, CFA has a strong educational background. Simón attended Saint George's College from 1995 to 2005, where they completed their high school education. In 2007, they enrolled in Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where they pursued a degree in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Information Technology. Simón successfully completed their studies in 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Simón Fuenzalida has obtained additional certifications to enhance their professional skills. In 2019, they completed a Machine Learning certification from Stanford Online.
