James Lastoskie has a diverse background and extensive work experience in the financial industry. James began their career as an Associate at LECG from 1998 to 2000. James then worked at The NASDAQ Stock Market INC as an Associate Director of Economic Research from 2000 to 2003. After that, they had a brief stint as an MBA Consultant at Northwest Airlines in 2005. In the same year, they also served as an MBA Intern - Senior Financial Analyst at Amazon.

James joined BlackRock in 2006, where they held various roles. James started as an Associate in New Business Strategy from 2006 to 2008. James then became the Vice President of Retirement Platforms and Strategy, co-leading an internal start-up business that achieved $6B assets under management and $15M in annual revenue by 2011. James also played a key role in forging partnerships with custodial platforms and recordkeepers, leading them to offer ETFs as a 401(k) investment option for the first time. James later became a Director and Senior Investment Strategist, driving $1.5B+ net flows to the Lifepath Mutual fund series over two years.

James joined Charles Schwab in 2014 and held multiple Managing Director positions. James spearheaded the expansion and evolution of the $200B+ fixed income product offering, resulting in a 300% increase in net new assets and a 200% increase in solutions flow. James also led efforts to enhance the fixed income presence on Schwab.com, resulting in a significant increase in site traffic, time on site, and engagement. In addition, they played a crucial role in the development and launch of Schwab Intelligent Income, driving $1B+ in flows in the first year.

Most recently, James joined AssetMark in 2023 as a Vice President, focusing on Cash Management & Lending Solutions.

James Lastoskie has a BA in Economics and History from William & Mary, which they obtained from 1994 to 1998. James later pursued an MBA in Corporate Strategy and Finance from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business, completing it between 2004 and 2006. In terms of additional certifications, they became an Accredited Investment Fiduciary in 2009 and obtained the Series 63 and Series 7 certifications in 2007. James also received the Series 24 certification without specifying the year, but it was obtained through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
