Marko Tomic

Marko Tomic has extensive work experience in various roles within the technology industry.

Marko co-founded Assignar in 2014 and served as the Co-Founder & CTO. Assignar is an operations platform for construction sub-contractors and self-perform GCs. Marko's role involved increasing revenue, productivity, and efficiency, as well as improving safety and eliminating paperwork within the industry.

Prior to that, Marko worked at Mamamia as a Tech Lead / Systems Architect from 2013 to 2014. Marko led a team that successfully migrated the company's IT infrastructure to Amazon Web Services, reducing hosting costs significantly. Marko also designed a scalable and secure system that allowed the company to grow organically.

From 2007 to 2012, Marko was a Senior Application Developer at Learnosity. Marko was involved in architecting and delivering high-stakes and practice online assessments to clients worldwide. During this time, the company transitioned from a consultancy business to the birth of Learnosity as a separate entity.

Marko also had brief roles at The Royal Australasian College of Physicians, NetX (acquired by Clemenger BBDO), Adcorp, SIMplus, and Tenrod, where they gained valuable experience in software engineering and development. These roles involved working on mission-critical platforms, developing high-profile websites and web applications, and pioneering online payment systems and product catalogues.

Marko Tomic started their education in 1998 and completed it in 2003 at the University of Technology Sydney. Marko earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree with a Diploma in Engineering Practice, specializing in Computer Systems Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Marko Tomic has obtained several certifications over the years. In 2009, they became a Divemaster (DM) through PADI and also earned an AWARE Coral Reef Conservation Instructor certification. In 2010, they obtained the Open Water Scuba Instructor certification from PADI. In the field of technology, Marko Tomic became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate in 2014 and an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional in 2018, both through Amazon Web Services.
