Director Of Global Safety, Risk And Resilience at The Associated Press

Kerry Paterson has a diverse work experience, with a focus on safety and security. They worked as the Director of Safety and Security at The Associated Press starting in 2024. Prior to that, Kerry held multiple roles at the Committee to Protect Journalists, including Deputy Director of Emergencies and Deputy Director of Advocacy and Communications. They also worked as an Advocacy and Communications Manager and Senior Associate in the Africa Program at the same organization. Kerry's previous experience includes roles as a Project and Research Manager at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, as well as a Project and Research Assistant at the Global Justice Lab, Munk School of Global Affairs - University of Toronto. They also worked in National Association Communications at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

Kerry Paterson completed a Masters of Global Affairs (High Distinction) from the University of Toronto between 2012 and 2014. Prior to that, between 2009 and 2012, they earned an Honors Bachelor of Arts (High Distinction) from the same university, majoring in Peace and Conflict Studies and Political Science.
