Ben Howarth has extensive work experience in the field of policy and consulting. Ben started their career as a Parliamentary Assistant Intern for Fiona Mactaggart MP in 2006. Ben then worked as a Parliamentary Analyst and Senior Parliamentary Analyst at DeHavilland from 2007 to 2011. Ben also worked as an Operations Manager at DeHavilland from 2010 to 2011. Ben then joined EUK Consulting as a Research Manager from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, Ben began working at the Association of British Insurers, where they took on various roles including Policy Adviser, Senior Policy Adviser, Manager of Brexit (Interim), and DG Business Manager. Their most recent role at the Association of British Insurers is Chief Sustainability Officer, starting in July 2022.
Ben Howarth studied at the University of Exeter from 2002 to 2005, where they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Politics. Ben then pursued further education at the same university from 2005 to 2006, obtaining an MRes in Economic and Social History.
