David Kirtland

David Kirtland has a diverse and extensive work experience. David is currently working at JERA Americas as the Vice-President & Head of Audit. Prior to that, they served as the Director - Past President at the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and held various leadership positions within the organization, including President of the Houston ACFE Chapter. David has also worked as an Internal Audit Director at REV Renewables and Via Renewables, and served as the Compliance Manager at AXIA Partners, Consulting. David has experience in the insurance industry, having worked as an Internal Audit Manager at Houston International Insurance Group (HIIG). Earlier in their career, David worked as a Senior Auditor at LyondellBasell and as a Project Manager at Nucor Corporation. David is also a veteran, having served in the US Navy as a Nuclear Machinists Mate First Class on submarines. David holds an MBA degree and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

David Kirtland obtained their education from various institutions. David completed their Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business from 2010 to 2012. David then pursued a Master of Science in Accounting from the same institution, completing it in 2013-2014. Later, they attended the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, where they earned their Master of Business Administration-MBA in 2017-2019. Alongside their education, Kirtland also obtained several certifications, including CPA (Certified Public Accountant) from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy in 2022, CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CRMA (Certification in Risk Management Assurance), CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), and others from various institutions.
