Jose Valanta

Jose Valanta serves as the Director of Customer Relations at the Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities (Kuntaliitto) since February 2020, focusing on cooperation and development of customer networks and urban policy issues. Previously, Valanta held the position of Director of Business Development at the City of Vantaa from April 2013 to January 2020, overseeing economic development, corporate advisory services, tourism development, and international affairs. Earlier roles include Director of Development at the City of Lahti and Director of Lahti-Sub Region, where responsibilities included overall city development and municipal service reorganization. Valanta's career began as a Development Manager at Kuntaliitto and included academic roles at the University of Turku in Political Science. Valanta holds a Licentiate and a Master's degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Turku.
