Joan Sainz

Joan Sainz is an accomplished professional with diverse experience in membership coordination, legal support, and educational ministry. Currently serving as the Membership and Database Coordinator at the Association of Zoos and Aquariums since July 2022, Sainz previously worked as a Paralegal at Alpert Schreyer Poe, LLC from October 2020 to July 2022, and as an Intern at the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, where notable contributions included overseeing ministry operations and developing a mission statement for campus ministry. Additional experience includes internships at Erie Insurance Group, the Smithsonian Institution, and roles in student supervision at Christopher Newport University's Office of Advancement. Sainz holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and Policy from the University of Denver, a Master's certificate in Theology from St. Joseph's College of Maine, and a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Biology from Christopher Newport University.
