V John Bates

John Bates, V currently serves as the Head of School at St. Pius X High School since June 2023, while also holding the position of Principal at Assumption Catholic School since November 2016. Prior experience includes the role of Assistant Principal of Middle School at St. Michael Catholic School from July 2013 to November 2016, where responsibilities evolved from Dean of Students. Earlier in the career, John Bates was a teacher at KIPP Houston and Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, specializing in social studies and athletics, including coaching track & field and wrestling. Bates holds a Master of Education in Catholic Teaching from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Oklahoma State University.
