Avi Yitzhak has an extensive work experience in the field of medicine and healthcare. Avi started their career as a General Surgeon in the IDF in 1993 and served until October 2021. During their time in the IDF, they also obtained a Master's in Healthcare Administration.
In 2020, Avi Yitzhak took on the role of Ex IDF Chief of Trauma in the Fire & Rescue Authority of Israel, where they served until October 2021. In December 2020, they also became the Chief Physician for the Fire & Rescue Authority of Israel, a position they held until December 2022.

Avi pursued medicine and enrolled at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev from 1992 to 1999, earning their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a specialization in medicine. Avi then furthered their medical education at the same university from 2004 to 2011 by completing the General Surgery Residency Program, leading to their MD degree in General Surgery. Avi also pursued a Master's degree in Health Administration with a focus on medical technology and pharmaceuticals from 2014 to 2016 at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Finally, they attended Tel Aviv University - Coller School of Management from 2017 to 2019, but there is no specified degree or field of study for this period.
