Fariborz Musavi

Fariborz Musavi, Ph.D., P.Eng., SMIEEE has extensive work experience in the field of electrical and power systems. Fariborz currently holds the position of VP, Electrical and Power Systems at AST SpaceMobile since June 2022. Previously, they served as the Manager, Hardware Development at Amazon from May 2021 to June 2022. Before that, they worked as a Senior Power System Engineer at Amazon - Project Kuiper from June 2019 to March 2021. Fariborz also served as a Faculty member at Washington State University from August 2015 to May 2019.

In their earlier career, Fariborz held the role of Director of Engineering at CUI Inc from September 2013 to June 2017. Fariborz was also an Adjunct Professor at The University of British Columbia from August 2012 to September 2013. Prior to that, they gained valuable experience at Delta-Q Technologies as a Manager of Research, Engineering from January 2011 to September 2013, and as a Power Electronics Engineer from September 2007 to January 2011. Fariborz also worked as a Power Electronics Engineer at Alpha Technologies from September 2006 to September 2007.

Beginning their career, Fariborz worked as an Electronics Design Engineer at DRS Power Technology, Inc. from 2004 to 2006, and as a Power Engineer at MDA Space Technologies (formerly EMS Technologies) from 2001 to 2003. With their strong expertise in electrical and power systems, they have made significant contributions throughout their career in various engineering and managerial roles.

Fariborz Musavi, Ph.D., P.Eng., SMIEEE has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics from The University of British Columbia. Fariborz also holds a M.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics from Concordia University. For their undergraduate studies, they received a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology.
