Farouk Mohamed

Farouk Mohamed has extensive work experience in global sourcing and purchasing roles. Farouk is currently serving as a Senior Manager Global Sourcing at ASTEC since May 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Caterpillar Inc. for over a decade, holding various positions including Global Platform Purchasing Leader, Global Purchasing Manager, and Senior Design & Manufacturing APQP Specialist. During their time at Caterpillar, Farouk implemented innovative coaching and mentoring strategies to improve supplier performance and achieve cost savings. Farouk Mohamed has an extensive education history with focus on product development and management. From 2002 to 2004, they pursued a Master's Degree in Product Development & Management from the University of Detroit Mercy. Prior to that, Farouk had completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering from the University of Toronto from 1993 to 1997. Farouk also holds a GCE O-Levels degree in Mathematics, Science, and Languages from Saint Mary's Nairobi in Kenya.
