Meredith Allen

Vice President, Health Security at ASTHO

Meredith Allen, DrPH, MS has extensive experience in the field of public health and health security. Meredith has held various leadership positions at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) since 2012. As the Vice President of Health Security, they are responsible for the administration and management of health security policy and practice areas, including environmental health, public health preparedness and emergency response, immunization, and infectious diseases. Meredith serves as a liaison between ASTHO and federal partners and provides executive-level leadership in strategic planning, advocacy, and member support. In their previous role as Senior Director of Immunization and Infectious Disease, they directed programs to address infectious disease policy and program needs. Before joining ASTHO, they worked as a Project Manager at CRA, Inc., where they provided expertise in public health emergency planning and response. Meredith also served as an Epidemiologist for the Bucks County Department of Health, where they were responsible for developing and maintaining county-level plans and protocols. Additionally, they have experience as a lecturer at Benedictine University.

Meredith Allen, DrPH, MS completed their education at several prestigious institutions. Meredith earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Delaware from 1997 to 2001. Meredith then pursued a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health between 2001 and 2003. Lastly, they obtained a Doctor of Public Health degree in Community Health and Prevention from Drexel University, completing their studies from 2005 to 2009.
