Aaron Mccandless

Aaron McCandless is a Senior Additive Manufacturing Project Engineer at ASTM Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence since July 2022, previously serving as an Additive Manufacturing Project Engineer. Prior experience includes serving as an Interdisciplinary Engineer at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) from June 2019 to July 2022, where responsibilities included leading the procurement, installation, and testing of Voyage Management Systems (VMS) labs and evaluating proposals on source selection boards. Aaron's background also features a role as a Research and Development Engineer at The Pennsylvania State University Applied Research Laboratory, focusing on additive manufacturing design and fabrication, as well as positions at Tyco Security Products and Lunar Lion, where project leadership and technical skills were honed. Academic credentials include a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, an Engineering Leadership and Innovation Management Certificate, and a degree in Additive Manufacturing and Design from Penn State World Campus.
