Ashok Cherian

Ashok Cherian has an extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Ashok is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Astral Limited since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Page Industries Ltd from May 2019 to February 2023. Ashok also served as the CIO at Emami Agrotech Limited from September 2016 to May 2019, and at J.K. Cement Limited from February 2011 to September 2016. Earlier in their career, they held the position of Chief Information Officer - Global Information Systems at Whirlpool of India Ltd. from August 2007 to January 2011. Prior to that, they worked at Tata Consumer Products in various IT managerial roles from April 1995 to June 2007. Ashok started their career as a System Analyst at Syntech Software Ltd from February 1994 to April 1995.

Ashok Cherian has a diverse education history. In 2015, they attended Harvard Business School and completed a program titled "Maximising your Leadership Potential" with a focus on leadership. Ashok also attended the Indian School of Business and studied "Leveraging IT in Core Business Functions" in the field of Management Information Systems. Additionally, they studied "Systems Development Methodologies and Tools" at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. Prior to these programs, they attended St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata, from 1985 to 1988. Apart from their formal education, they have obtained certifications as a Certified External Assessor of Tata Business Excellence Model and a Certified Solution Consultant for mySAP Supply Chain Management & Manufacturing.
