Avipsa Ghosh

Avipsa Ghosh is an experienced medicinal chemist currently serving as an Associate Principal Scientist at AstraZeneca since June 2018, where responsibilities include leading a Tier 1 project and overseeing the design and synthesis of small molecule inhibitors for oncology targets. Significant contributions include work on the development of the PARP1-selective inhibitors AZD5305 and AZD9574, both in Phase II clinical trials, and participation in the CDK2-selective inhibitor program leading to AZD8421, currently in Phase I clinical trial. Prior experience includes roles at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Postdoctoral Associate and Iowa State University, where Ghosh earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry, along with teaching positions.
