Rustin Lovewell

Rustin Lovewell serves as the Associate Director and Translational Science Lead at AstraZeneca, a position held since July 2024. Prior to this role, Rustin was the Director of Research and Projects at NextCure, Inc. from March 2020 to July 2024. Rustin's earlier experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at UMass Medical School from February 2014 to July 2018, where research focused on granulocytic inflammation in tuberculosis. In the early career, Rustin worked as a Research Technician at FMC BioPolymer from 2005 to 2007, specializing in hydrocolloid chemistry and new product development. Rustin holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, awarded in 2014, and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Maine, completed in 2005.
