Associate Director, New Product Planning at Astria Therapeutics

Gemma Molins has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry. Gemma'smost recent position was as a Senior Manager of New Product Planning at Astria Therapeutics, Inc. starting in June 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Global Commercial Strategy MBA fellow in the Meta+ and Neuro & Ophthalmology divisions from May 2022 to May 2023.

Gemma also served as a Business Development & Strategy Consultant at Alkemi from January to May 2022.

From March 2019 to August 2021, Gemma worked as a Research Scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, focusing on the development of an innovative microfluidic device for studying drug transport mechanisms and cellular states in neurological diseases.

Gemma also has experience as an Operations Manager at the Global CoCreation Lab from January 2020 to July 2021.

Earlier in their career, Gemma served as a Project Leader in R&D for Medical Devices at iVascular from March 2017 to March 2019, where they led the development of innovative devices and managed preclinical studies.

Gemma started their career as a Graduate Researcher at IQS Barcelona, conducting research on gene therapy and developing delivery systems for nucleic acid administration in the brain from October 2015 to December 2016.

Gemma Molins has a diverse education history. Gemma earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from IQS Barcelona, completing their studies from 2010 to 2014. Gemma then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Bioengineering from the same institution, attending from 2014 to 2016. Later on, Gemma went on to the Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, where they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Gemma'sstudies at Babson began in 2021 and are expected to continue until 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Gemma Molins has obtained multiple certifications. Gemma acquired expertise in topics such as Social, Behavioral, and Education Sciences, including economics, accounting, law, and entrepreneurship, through the CITI Program in September 2022. Gemma also completed the Social-Behavioral-Educational Researchers certification from the same program during the same period. Gemma has obtained project management skills for leaders through a certification from LinkedIn, which they acquired in July 2022. In April 2022, they completed an Introduction to Python course through DataCamp, followed by an Introduction to SQL course in February 2022. Gemma demonstrated proficiency in the English language by scoring 116 out of 120 on The TOEFL® test in March 2021. Finally, they received a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) certification from Universitat de Barcelona in December 2018.
